MAKÜ BAKA Technology Development Zone was established with the approval of the T.C. Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology and the Council of Ministers Decision dated 17.04.2013 and numbered 2013/4676, which was published in the Official Gazette dated 17.05.2013 and numbered 28650, in order to ensure the formation of the academic, economic, and social structure in the region. Its legal entity was registered and announced in the Turkish Trade Registry Gazette dated 06.08.2014, issue number 8625, and in the Burdur Trade Registry Office with the registration number 7111 Burdur dated 23.07.2014. The zone is located within the Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University İstiklal campus and consists of 47,577m2.
